Join the national giving event, also benefit Charity House

Every year since 2012, a worldwide charity event called GivingTuesday has taken center stage on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year that will be Dec. 1.

“GivingTuesday,” the agency’s website says, “reimagines a world built upon shared humanity and generosity. … Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give.”

In 2025, $4 billion was donated in the United States on GivingTuesday. That raised the total donated since 2012 to $22.5 billion in our country. You can take part with nearly 40 million other Americans – by directing your giving to Charity House.

Please consider making a donation – small or big. It’s cliché, but every dollar really does help. And in this case, it helps support the work being done at Charity House for the men who come to it to kick addictions, find new lives and live a new faith. As the year concludes, you can plan your year-end giving not only to benefit Charity House and other worthy causes but also to present you with a tax advantage.

GivingTuesday itself does not offer to match donations, but some companies and retail businesses do. A website called Double the Donation offers tips on finding matching gifts: resources.doublethedonation.com/ultimate-guide-to-matching-gifts
